Rev. Harbuziuk was the director of radio programs sponsored by the Ukrainian Baptist Church of Chicago for broadcast in the Chicago area, and also for radio programs sponsored by the All-Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Fellowship (in the Free World) for broadcast via short-wave into Soviet Ukraine. He served as radio pastor from 1952 to 1993. People living in other countries also were able to hear these programs.
The local broadcast began in 1952 over radio station WSBC (1240 AM). A short-wave radio program was broadcast for five years from station HCJB in Quito, Ecuador. For example, in 1953, 30-minute radio programs were broadcast on HCJB on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Preachers included Rev. John Barchuk, Rev. Moses Gitlin, Oл. Лонгинов and Rev. Harbuziuk.
In 1966, programs began being broadcast from Trans World Radio in Monte Carlo, Monaco under the title "Voice of the Gospel into Ukraine" ("Голос Євангелії в Україну"). The first program was sent over the airwaves on June 23, 1966 at 6:20 p.m. Kyiv time. Later, other stations also were used. By 1989, radio programs sponsored by the All-Ukrainian Evangelical Baptist Fellowship were beamed into Ukraine and the Soviet Union every day of the week, on some days more than once, from three stations. Included was a weekly program for children.
